Rags to BITCHES AKA "How the BDU got its groove back"

Here you'll find a detailed (but not too detailed) breakdown of

*THE PROCESS*

between the time you order a RAID Mod Shirt and the time you receive tracking information.

5 steps, usually taking 4-6 weeks.

1. Source

Unfortunately we don't have the operating capital OR the storage space to keep stock on hand for the variety of sizes and camo patterns we offer, so the first step in building your shirt is sourcing a donor from one of our suppliers. The surplus market is constantly shifting, so stock is never guaranteed, but we've built solid relationships with multiple reputable suppliers that allow us to reliably source popular sizes. Donor shirts are ordered in weekly batches every Friday afternoon.

2. Intake

When we receive the shirts (usually 1.5-2 weeks after your order) we first inspect for any damage in the case of pre-issued shirts, strip any tags, safety pins etc., and assign them to their corresponding order numbers according to size and destination.

We try to send the hot weather BDUs to the folks in warmer climates and temperate weather models to cooler areas when possible, but we can't choose what our suppliers send us, so no guarantees. We can special order specific BDUs on request, but the price will not be the same.

3. Baseline

Once the shirts are inspected and matched with their future owners, they're de-mil'd, pockets stripped, and any damage is repaired giving us a blank slate to work from.

4. Modify

Shirts are re-assembled with our signature flavor, as well as any customer requests.

5. Refresh

Completed shirts are all washed in all-natural detergent free of artificial scents, optical brighteners or dyes cutting down on the surplus smell while preserving the NIR characteristics of USGI garments, and counteracting any previous improper laundering.
